My Story
I was trained at the internationally renowned Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York and have been a licensed professional massage therapist in New York State since 1990. I gained my New Jersey license by recommendation from 2018. For most of the 1990’s I lived and worked between Tokyo and Shanghai where I earned a second degree black belt in Kyokushin Karate, studied Acupuncture, Yoga and was a colleague of The Tokyo Childbirth Education Association providing the expatriate community with prenatal and post-partum massage, partner labor massage instruction in addition to various massage therapy services until 1996.
After returning to the United States in 1996, I received birth doula certification and worked with labor and delivery nurses of The Buffalo Children’s Hospital, where I gave workshops to expectant parents and seminars for healthcare professionals concerning the benefits of massage during pregnancy, labor and delivery.
I relocated to New York City in 1997 and continued my massage therapy practice. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with professional dancers from major companies as well as anyone committed to their continued health and well being.
Currently, between her Northwest New Jersey and my Midtown New York City offices I continue to build on my skills and knowledge from both Eastern education and Western training. I provide a rigorous and thorough therapeutic style which may include (according to need) meridian point treatments, medical massage, Neurosomatic Release Therapies and effective exercise recommendations. I enjoy working collaboratively with professional dancers, physical therapists, functional medicine practitioners and chiropractors. I endeavor to continually offer a unique brand of bodywork not only for professional colleagues but for those individuals who are simply interested in wellness and feeling revitalized.
